Joy Clair Flawless

Hello Blogging Friends,

It is my turn today on the Joy Clair Blog and I have a card to share with you that I made with the Joy Clair Flawless stamp set.

This stamp set is great for all those girly layouts in your scrapbooks!

For this A2 card I started with a piece of watercolor paper that I placed onto my Misti and then I played around with the layout of the stamps until I found a design that I liked.  To start my card I knew I had to make a mask for the powder compact so that I could stmp the brush on top of the compact.

So I placed the powder compact and brush stamps on some watercolor paper on my Misti.

Then I stamped them with some black ink.

Next I fussy cut them out so I could mask off the powder compact where I want the brush to be lying on top of the compact.  So I place the cut out brush onto the paper and then I stamp the compact onto the paper.

Now I can remove the brush mask and stamp the brush on top of the compact.

I placed the stamps where I wanted them on my card to see how it looks, and then if I like the layout I start stamping the stamps with black ink onto the watercolor paper.

When I have stamped everything it is time to color the images.

To color the images I used Copic marker BG10 to color in the mirror on the compact.  I used E02 for the powder, W1 and W3 for the compact, C5 for the bristles on the brush, E37 for the wand brush, W3 for the band in the middle.  For the lipstick I used W3, R85 and E04.  I used BG23 for the mascara and R20 for the Be-You-tiful box.  Then I took Wilted Violet Distress Oxide and watercolored the background with that and then I spritzed some water on it.

But it still didn't look quite right to me, so I stamped the flowers by the box with black in and I used Blue Lagoon Nuvo Crystal Drops for the centers of the flowers and then I put three litttle dots of the drops in the top left hand corner and then the bottom right hand corner.  I decided to add the sentiment, so I stamped that with black ink in the middle of the card.  I mounted that to some turquoise paper and then added that to a white A2 card base.

This was my first time using the Distress Oxide so I think I will have to practice with it some more.  I love the way the card came out with all the beauty items and the sentiment!

I hope I have inspired you to try something new today!

Hello Blogging Friends!

Today is the start of a new challenge on the Scrapy Land Challenge Blog ~

Scrapy Land Challenge #64 ~ Spring Blooms

The theme for this challenge is Spring Blooms plus use any brand of low profile or steel ruled die that Scrapy Land sells.

Here is my card for this challenge:

Ingredients:

Cheery Lynn Designs Pair of Ferns die
Nuvo Crystal Drops Golden Sunset
Inspired by Stamping Spring Lilacs 6 x 6 paper
Assorted paper from my stash
Recollections Purple Flowers
Kraft card stock
Brown ink
Black marker
Black gem
White pen

For this A2 card I started with Kraft card stock for the base of this card.  I took a piece of paper from the Inspired by Stamping Spring Lilacs paper, inked the edges with Brown in and attached that to the card. Next I took the Memory Box Snowflake Bird die and cut it out with White, Yellow and Black paper.

I wanted to show you that with a little imagination you can stretch your winter dies and use them for Spring or Summer too.

I placed the White outline of the Memory Box Snowflake Bird onto the card and then I added the black piece to his tail and the yellow part of his body.  I took a black marker and colored his head and wing.  I used my White pen to accent his wing.  See I want him to look like a Goldfinch!  I just love when they fly into my yard!  I took some of the Recollections Purple Flowers and glued them over the snowflakes and added some Nuvo Crystal Drops Golden Sunset and put dots in the middle of the flowers.  I cut out the Cheery Lynn Designs Pair of Ferns die with Green paper and added that to the card.  I cut out some more White paper with the one of the ferns from the Tattered Lace Ferns die set and added that to the top of the card.

Die-Versions Whispers Elegant Border die
DL.ART Red Crinkle Ribbon from the Rainbow Bundle
Basic Grey Little Black Dress paper
Kraft card stock
White paper
Versa mark
Black embossing powder
Black ink

For this A2 card I started with a piece of Kraft card stock, I then took a piece of Basic Grey Little Black Dress paper and cut that down to 4 inches by 5 1/4 inches, inked the edges with black ink and attached that to the base of the card.  I stamped the teapot from the Joy Clair Mother's Day stamp set with Versa mark onto some white paper and then I heat embossed it with black embossing powder and then I fussy cut it out.  I took some more white paper and the Die-Versiosn Whispers Elegant Border die and ran that thru my Vagabond and I glued that onto the card to look like a shelf on the wall.  I glued the teapot on top of the shelf.  I stamped the sentiment with black ink onto white paper and cut it out with an older die that I have and inked the edges with black ink and then attached that to the card next to the teapot.  I took a red pen and colored in the berries on the teapot and filled in Mother with the pen too.  I took some DL.ART Red Crinkle Ribbon and glued that around the top of the card and then with some more ribbon I made a bow and attached that to the card.

Here is my second card:

Ingredients:

Old Quickutz Tag die

Copic markers

For this A2 card I started with White card stock for the base of the card.  I added some Blue Marble paper for the sky.  I took several scraps of green paper and cut out the grass using my Creative Memories Grass Border Maker.  I layered the grass on top of the blue sky.  Then I took some brown ink and stamped the poop emoji stamp and sentiment from the Joy Clair Mother's Day stamp set onto some white paper. Joy Clair Doodle Flowers for Easter

Hello Blogging Friends,

Today it is my turn on the Joy Clair Blog and I am going to share a card with you that I made with one of the newly released Joy Clair stamp sets called Doodle Flowers stamp set.

Since I am a gardener this Doodle Flower stamp set is really special to me!  I love flowers and who can resist a sweet mason jar??

So I decided to make a sweet Easter card with the mason jar filled with flowers!  I started out by taking some watercolor paper and placing it on my Misti and then positioning the mason jar where I want it.

I used black ink to stamp the mason jar lightly onto the paper.  I don't want it too dark because I am going to be placing the flowers in the jar next.

I stamped the bundle of flowers with black ink inside the jar, and I stamped the bundle of flowers onto a scrap piece of paper and fussy cut it out so I can use this as a mask to add the stems of leaves to the flowers.

After I tape the bundle of flowers down with some removable tape, I position the stem of leaves where I want it, close the lid of my Misti to pick up the stamp, then I ink the stamp with black ink and press the lid of the Misti down onto my paper.

I take the stem of leaves for the other side to the vase and position that where I want the leaves to be and then stamp it with my Misti.  Now it is time to color!

I used Copic markers B00 and B02 to color the jar.  I used Copic markers Y13, B24, R81, R32, R86 and BV00 for the flowers.  For the leaves and stems I used Copics G23 and YG61.  Once everything was colored I fussy cut this out and placed it on some white paper.  I took the Gina Marie Big & Little Pierced Chain Oval die and cut that out.  I took an A2 white card base and added the Lemoncraft paper to the card, then I attached the oval onto the card.  I stamped the Happy Easter sentiment from the Joy Clair Easter Eggs stamp set onto an oval tag.  Then I took some green bakers twine and wrapped it around the card several times, I added the tag and tied the it into a bow.  I love the way it turned out and I can see me using this fun Joy Clair Doodle Flowers stamp set a great deal!

I hope I have inspired you today!
